Today was a very fun day. When we got to school, we unpacked our bags and made our lunch choice. Then, we started on our morning work. When the bell rang, we stood up to say the Pledge of Allegiance. After the pledge, we came to the carpet for calendar. Calendar is a lot of fun because we get to sing, dance and talk about our days of the week. After calendar, we started Work Centers. One group practicing doing things with their names. We put our name in order, wrote our name and made a name necklace.
Another group got to put pattern blocks on a turtle. Then, we got to make whatever we wanted with the shapes. Caroline spelled some words with her shapes.

After work centers, we lined up to go to the gym. We had P.E. today. “We kicked balls. It was fun.” Addison C. When P.E. was over, we came back in for snack. We ate cheese balls for snack. The cheese balls were delicious.
After snack, we came to the rug to talk about our letter of the week. We are talking about the letter Tt this week. Tt is a fire cracker letter because it explodes out of our mouth like a fire cracker. Top, truck and television start with Tt.
We had to go to lunch early today because the 3rd graders are taking a test. We were so happy because we go to eat in the classroom. It was really cool!
After lunch and recess, we did Daily 5 and Fundations. We got to practice writing the letter Tt on our brand new boards. We really liked that. We sang ABC Disco and did the silly disco dance! Also, during Daily 5, we practiced Read to Self. We are SO excited because we read for 8 minutes. We are building our stamina!! Yay!!!
Next came journal writing. We wrote about our daddy. We all love our dads SO much!
Math was the last thing we did today. We are talking about shapes this week in math. During math centers, some kids got to work on the computer. We did IXL math on the internet. Other kids traced shapes, played with pattern blocks and played with unifix cubes. We were very busy in math!
Today was a good day for us!
