We wanted to share with the world what our Daily 5 time looks like in our classroom.  Daily 5 is a very important part of our day in Kindergarten.  We work so hard in all of our Daily 5 stations to learn to read and write better.  We love working with Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Feller in small groups. iStation, Footsteps2Brilliance, Raz-Kids and Literactive are really awesome learning games we use to get smarter. We get to play those on the computers, laptops and iPads.  Working with Words and Read to Self are other awesome parts of our Daily 5 time.  We have pictures and videos of what it looks like and wanted to share them with you.  Enjoy!!

We love Kindergarten!

100th Day of School!!!

100th day of school was last Thursday!! We did many fun activities throughout the week to celebrate the 100th day of school.  Linkon and his mom made a very creative shirt at home for him to wear on the 100th day of school.  We all loved his shirt!

We watched a Brainpopjr video all about 100.  Moby taught us different ways to make 100 and different ways to count to 100.

During Math Club last week, we made a mystery picture by coloring different numbers on a 100s board.  We ended up making the number 100 which was really cool!

On Thursday, we colored a special crown for morning work that we got to wear all day long.  We took a few class pictures together with our crowns on.  Mrs. Deaton let us take a regular picture, a silly picture and a hugging picture.

For snack, we made a very different, exciting snack together.  We counted 10 different pieces of 10 different snacks, which means we ate 100 pieces of snack!! It was delicious! Yummy!!

We made a list of 100 exercises and stretches that we could do together.  Then, we did them! We were exhausted after our workout!

Right before lunch, we went to the gym to put our 100 pennies on a 100's board.  Every student at South Elementary brought 100 pennies for the penny quilt.  Our school will donate all the money to the American Red Cross.  We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the gym full of pennies!

Another fun activity we did was find 100 hershey kisses that Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Feller hid all over the room.  The hershey kisses had numbers on the bottom of them.  We had to match the hershey kiss to the correct number on some huge lips.  This was a really great activity!!

In honor of the book fair, Clifford the Dog came to visit us.  We were happy to get to take a picture with Clifford.  He also gave us a big group hug! We love Clifford and reading!!

Even though our week was full of fun things, we did not stop working hard!!  We continued to work hard during math and during Daily 5.  We are getting smarter every day!!

If we work hard, we get to play hard!  Free centers are the BEST!

Kindergarten rocks!!
