Meet Mrs. Deaton

My name is Kitch Deaton and I have been a Kindergarten teacher at South Elementary School since 2006. I am extremely passionate about teaching Kindergarten and know that this is what I was meant to do. I love my job and my students more than I can even begin to describe. It is my hope as an educator to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students as I share my own passion for learning with them. I believe that I can portray my compassion, dedication and joy of learning that I possess in my heart in order to help change your child’s life forever.

I am originally from Laurinburg, North Carolina, but now live in Mooresville with my husband, Grant. We have been married since 2006!

Grant and I are the proud parents of an 9 year old, Connor (3rd grade at South), a 6 year old, Brandon (1st grade at South), a 4 year old, Samuel and a 3 month old, Grayson. We are beyond blessed for our four amazing children.

We have a precious Goldendoodle named Annie. We love her so much!

I graduated from Appalachian State University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2004. Grant and I received our Master's degree in Instructional Technology from Appalachian State in May 2013.

In my spare time I enjoy watching Panther's games, reading, spending time with my family & friends, and vacationing at the beach.

The two sweetest sisters in the world!
I love my family!

I am really looking forward to an exciting year in kindergarten!
