Daily 5... A New Record!!

We had a really good day in school today! For morning work, we drew a ball and a feather. During Daily 5, we practiced building our stamina by reading to ourselves. You'll never believe this but WE READ FOR 16 MINUTES without getting distracted!! Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Feller were SO proud of us and we were proud of ourselves too! We know we are getting smarter already!

Today, we learned about the library rules in Media class. We learned how to check out books because we get to check out library books next week. We can't wait.

Two of our friends had to go home in the middle of the day today because they got sick. We know we have to wash our hands a lot, keep our hands out of our mouths and cover our faces when we sneeze or cough. We don't want any more kids to go home sick!

Work centers were fun today. Here are some things we thought about them:
"I got to color and cut out Brown Bear pictures. I put them in order to tell the story." Levi
"I put pattern blocks on a bear picture. I did good." Myonna
"I worked hard on my b and f pictures." Selena
"I made a shape bus. The windows were blue squares." Abby

Some of us got yellow crayons today. Uh oh! We know we need to work really hard to follow the rules in our classroom. We all want to stay on GREEN!

During math, we used pattern blocks to make the hexagon shape. It takes 2 trapezoids to make a hexagon. It takes 6 triangles to make a hexagon. We had fun making lots of hexagons. We also got to make shapes using our geoboards.

We got to use the Smartboard again today for a lot of fun things. We love our Smartboard!
