Today during Shared Reading, we transformed our classroom into a pretend construction site so we could practice the skill of comparing and contrasting.
After we read two books about dental health (our theme of the week), we used our "tools" to create comparing and contrasting sentences about them. We are working hard to form grammatically correct sentences using the signal words "both", "similar", "alike", "but", "unlike" and "however" to compare and contrast different texts. Our class had such a fun time today with this activity. We are going to be using our "Compare and Contrast Toolkits" all week long!!
