Career Day!

This week we learned all about different community helpers.  We know how important community helpers are in our lives.  They keep us safe and help our community be a better place. We talked about different jobs that our parents have and we got to bring items in to share with our classmates that remind us of our parent's jobs.  Here is what we found out about everyone's parents:

AJ:
This is my dad's badge.  He takes it to get people out of jail.  My dad gets money from people to get them out of jail.  When someone comes to his office or calls him to get a bond, he does it.  He is a bondsman.  My mom teaches preschoolers at the daycare called Above and Beyond.  She teaches them how to color nicely and do everything fun! The preschoolers play in centers and take naps when they get tired.

Bennett:
My dad is a firefighter in Mooresville.  He puts out fires, saves cats from trees and saves people from buildings on fire.  My mom works too but right now she is home with my new baby brother, Hudson.

Charlotte:
My mom works with 31. She sells lunch boxes, bags, pocket books and other things. You can monogram things that you buy from her. My daddy works too.

Chrystin:
My mom works with circuit boards.  Even airplanes have little circuit boards in there.  They help all electronics work. These circuit boards I brought went in a PlayStation 4 and an old Xbox controller.

Davis:
My dad is a State Trouper. When he directs traffic, he has to wear that vest. He drives a police car that is called a Highway Patrol car.  My dad helps people when they are in wrecks and sometimes he has to arrest people. My mom works at a makeup store called Mac. Sometimes I go and visit her at Northlake Mall and I get to go in her office in the back. That's where all the makeup is.

Easton:
My dad works at a big gym that has an upstairs.  You can go upstairs and watch people play basketball. My mom works at a work far away and sometimes she has to work late in the night.

Ella:
My dad works at a job that is really important. He is a Contract Analyst and he works at an office. My mom works too.

Ian:
My mom is a cook and makes yummy food.  She works at a restaurant and makes food for other people.  My dad fixes houses and cars.

Maddie:
My mommy is the manager at Dollar Tree in Mooresville.

Marklyn:
My mommy is a Realestate broker.  She works as a realtor with Providence Realty Partners. . She buys people houses. My daddy works at the gym called No Limit. He is a personal trainer and works out with people.

Marshall:
My dad is a lawyer.  He works in an office. Lawyers get people out of jail.  He works with people like AJ's dad.  My dad goes to the courtroom.  My shirt says that my dad is a lawyer but not a magician.  He can't solve all of your problems but he can solve some of them. He can't get bunnies out of hats and stuff. My mom works with my dad.  She has her own office but it has a door that leads to my dad's office.

Nathaniel:
My dad is a firefighter. He takes out the fire.  My mom works everyday from home.  She also takes care of my twin baby brother and sister.

Nithya:
My mom is a house maker and she cooks yummy food.  My dad works at Lowes. I've never been to his office but he works at the big office building not at the store.

Nixon:
My dad works with a concrete mixer.  It drives the truck and pours cement.  He pours sidewalks, roads, driveways and patios. My mom works too.

Paula:
My dad works on houses and cars. My mom works at Value Village.

Rylee:
My mom sells things. My dad lives somewhere else but he works too.

Sharez:
My mom works at Burger King.  She sells burgers and fries. She stands in the window and takes people's orders.

Wesley:
My daddy has two jobs. One thing he does is a firefighter. He drives firetrucks and puts out fires.  He will save a cat if it gets stuck in a tree and he will hold my hand if I get lost. My mommy uses latex gloves at work everyday.  She is a Medical Assistant.  She helps people get ready to see the doctor.  She checks blood pressure, listens to people's heart and checks people's temperature. She gives shots too.

Thank you to all of our moms and dads for working so hard!! We love you all!
