December Fun!

December has been a very busy month in Kindergarten.  Not only have we been making ornaments and other Christmas crafts, but we have been working hard with our reading, writing and math skills.  Our classroom has been a very busy, fun place to be!  Here are some things that we have been doing...

Our class enjoyed some delicious donuts from Marshall's parents so we could celebrate his 6th birthday.  It was an awesome day!!

We all adore our high school helper, Miss Shakira.  She helps out with different activities every single day. We get to play games with her and she works with us on our letters, sight words and writing.  Miss Shakira is super sweet and we love her!!

We continue to work so hard during Daily 5 so we can get smarter with our reading and writing skills!

Math has been awesome as we have learned how to count, recognize and build teen numbers. We have also continued to work on shapes, putting numbers in order, ordering objects by size and measuring different objects.

A couple weeks ago, Mrs. Deaton let us have a SNOWBALL FIGHT! We didn't use real snowballs but it was so much fun!  We got to throw sponges at each other when the music was playing.  When Mrs. Deaton turned the music off, we had to freeze!  Then, we listened for the rule to figure out how to group ourselves.  Sometimes, we got into groups by the same color.  Other times, we had to find our matching letter (uppercase to lowercase) to find our correct partner.  This game was one of our all-time favorites!
