Our letters of the week are Aa and Cc. Letter Cc is a THIEF because he steals letter sounds. He takes the sounds from Kk and Ss. He is a sneaky little letter!! One work center was sorting Aa and Cc pictures. Christian said he put "ax" under the Aa and "cat" under Cc. He is very smart!
Adriyana's group got to use the iPads to do Raz-Kids. It was really fun learning how to read on the iPad.
Daniel's group made the -at cat. They also had to write -at words. Daniel remembers writing "mat", "hat" and "bat". Adam remembers writing "rat".
Jarett's group made an Alligator purse. The boys don't want to call it a purse so they call it a wallet. We put Aa pictures in our Alligator's mouth. It's silly!
Today, specials was a lot of fun. We went to Media and got to check out our own library books for the first time. Picking out our own books was fun! We know we have to be careful with the books and return them next week.
Congratulations to our students of the month! We talked about responsibility in September. Our students of the month are Gigi, Caroline, Logan and Mahala. We are so proud of them!!
Our favorite part of the day was when we went outside for recess. Mrs. Feller let us go on Big Foot today because the 2nd graders were not out there yet. It was so awesome!
Journal writing and math went well today too. We wrote about things that we like and love. We talked about our numbers in math. Mrs. Deaton let us go on abcya on the internet to do a fun fish counting game. The last thing we did was math centers. Some kids went on IXL math on the computers. Some kids made an alligator with pattern blocks. Some kids got to play a fun numbers partner game. The last group went to Math Club with Mrs. Deaton. Her group worked with a 5 frame!
