December has been a very busy month in Kindergarten. Not only have we been making ornaments and other Christmas crafts, but we have been working hard with our reading, writing and math skills. Our classroom has been a very busy, fun place to be! Here are some things that we have been doing...
We enjoyed practicing writing our sight words and other simple CVC words with shaving cream on our tables!
We made many different ornaments for gifts for our parents. Griggs' grandmother came in to help us paint one of our ornaments. We love her so much!!
We had Grinch day and Reindeer day, which were both awesome!!
We wrote about what we would do to make a Grinch grin...
We had an awesome class Christmas party with fun stations led by some of our wonderful parents! We made applesauce ornaments with Brynley's mom, a cute Santa belly ornament with Griggs' mom, really cool fluffy slime with Carter Rose's mom and Alessia's and Giordana's mom, and we decorated delicious cookies with Owen's dad and our high school helper (Sedona). We really appreciated all the help from these parents! After the fun activities, we had a very delicious snack together to celebrate the Christmas holiday.
On the last day before Christmas break, we got to wear our pajamas to school. We even got to bring a sweet stuffed animal to cuddle with. Yay!!
After specials, we got tickets to "ride" our own Polar Express train (Mrs. Deaton punched them when we entered the train). We listened and watched the book on the SmartBoard and then retold the story with pictures! It was awesome!
The best part of the day was when we got a call from the office that a package was delivered to us from the North Pole! Mrs. Deaton went to the office to get it and brought it back for us to see. The box was FREEZING cold and there were real bells from Santa inside! The bells were freezing too! We were so excited and so happy!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
