Mrs. Deaton's Kinders: Fall Friends

We can't believe that November is already here. We are enjoying the Fall weather and are having a great time in school. Our class is working very hard to get smarter every day. We have been practicing our letters, sounds, sight words, numbers and much much more. This week, we talked about Fall Friends. We read some stories about owls and bats. In Work Centers, we made an adorable owl and used candy corn for different parts of it. This was one of our favorite things we did this week. We wrote in our journals about bats and owls too. Everyone did an awesome job drawing these things in their journal. Mrs. Deaton is so proud of how well we are writing.

Since we talked about the letter Nn this week, we read the story "The Napping House". After we read the story, we practiced retelling it. We made our own house and put the characters inside the pocket.

We worked hard in Daily 5 this week. Some of us did Read to Self. Mrs. Deaton lets us get a book box and a stuffed animal to read with. Some of us go to Writing with Mrs. Feller and some of us go to Book Club with Mrs. Deaton. We are working really hard during Writing and Book Club. Another thing we do during Daily 5 is go to the Computers for iStation. Today, we didn't go to iStation. We went to Literactive and played some learning games.

Playing outside and in Free Centers are things we really love to do. Mrs. Feller lets us play on Big Foot sometimes which is really awesome. Today was Free Center Friday. Guess what!! We got to go to three different Free Centers today. It was a great day!
