We are THANKFUL!!

The cutest Native Americans and Pilgrims ever seen at South Elementary School were in our classroom today! We enjoyed a wonderful feast with our friends in our classroom during lunchtime.  Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Feller set up our classroom to look like the very first Thanksgiving.  We got to dress up like Pilgrims and Native Americans.  It was so much fun.  We all ate food from the cafeteria and loved it.  Some of us tried new foods for the first time.  Our teachers were so proud of us for trying new things. Our class feast was awesome!!

Brag Tags and MORE!

School has been a happy place over the last few weeks!  Today, Dr. Cottone and Mrs. Sharpe presented us with school brag tags!  If we had perfect attendance for the first quarter of school, we got an attendance brag tag.  Some of us earned brag tags in reading for growing a reading level and in math for being proficient in our math skills. Bowen got our most improved award for the first quarter. We are so proud of Bowen!!

Perfect Attendance 1st Quarter (missing Chamberlyn)

Math Awards (missing Austin and Chamberlyn)

Reading Award (missing Chamberlyn)

Most Improved!

We are so lucky to have two high school helpers, Miss Sarah and Miss Jaslyn, come every day to help us in school.  They work with us with our letters, sight words, building words and reading.  We really love having our high school helpers come into our classroom! They are so sweet!

Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Feller are so proud of how hard we are working during Daily 5 and other parts of the day.  We try our best and are getting smarter every single day!

In Work Centers this week, we are doing a lot of things with turkeys.  We are matching pictures to their beginning sound on turkey feathers, making a sight word turkey, building a turkey with pattern blocks and spelling the word turkey.  We are getting ready for Thanksgiving!!
